Kotor is a city with two completely different maintenance zones. The old town under the protection of UNESCO consists of stone buildings, narrow passages and objects that cannot be entered by vehicle - all materials and equipment are carried on foot, and the works are adapted to the rules of the protected area. Outside the walls, in Dobrota, Muo and Prčnje, hotels, villas and apartment buildings along the coast dominate. Cruisers set the pace more than anywhere else on the coast. When a ship sails into the bay, several thousand people pass through the Old Town in one day - restaurants, cafes and retail establishments then work at full capacity and require maintenance during the shift, not only after closing. The schedule of ship arrivals is known in advance, so serious agencies plan their teams according to it. Rock and moisture are a technical challenge. Stone facades, floors and staircases in the Old Town do not tolerate aggressive agents, and the proximity to the sea and high humidity leave salt deposits and promote the appearance of mold in the ground floor rooms. The season lasts a little longer than in Budva - due to cruise ships and cultural tourism, traffic is also significant in May and October.
